Representation and the Impact in Social Media
Managing Family Life Online Webinar 17
Recorded: February 24, 2021
Practical Advice, Useful Tips, and Resources
Social media isn’t just a way to connect with others but a window to the world. It’s an important source of information on current events, trends, and pop culture, especially for kids. But how is our world view shaped when different kinds of people are represented, not represented, or misrepresented on it? What are the risks of this to our kids and to us, and what can we do about it? Trend Micro’s Lynette Owens is joined by Tyler Dietrich, Aleeyah Ward and Richard Santoyo from California State University, LA to share their personal stories, observations and discuss how best to tackle it all.
ASL interpretation was provided for this event and this webinar includes a Q&A session.
