It uses several instant messaging applications and a social networking site to spread. The instant message it sends is a link that downloads a copy of itself.
It terminates processes or services that are mostly related to anti-malware programs. It also deletes the files that are related to the processes or services it terminates. It does the said routine to keep itself running on the affected system.
This worm arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.
It connects to a website to send and receive information.

This worm arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.
It may be downloaded from the following remote sites:

Installation
This worm drops the following copies of itself into the affected system:

Step 1
For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.

Restart in normal mode and scan your computer with your Trend Micro product for files detected as WORM_STEKCT.EVL. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files. Restore files from backup Only Microsoft-related files will be restored. If this malware/grayware also deleted files related to programs that are not from Microsoft, please reinstall those programs on your computer again.
