This backdoor arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.
Installation
This backdoor drops the following copies of itself into the affected system:
- %Program Files%\Common Files\66c74f084c\msdtc.exe
(Note: %Program Files% is the default Program Files folder, usually C:\Program Files.)
Autostart Technique
This backdoor adds the following registry entries to enable its automatic execution at every system startup:

Active Setup\Installed Components\{3bf41072-b2b1-21c8-b5c1-66c74f084c42}
StubPath = "%Program Files%\Common Files\66c74f084c\msdtc.exe /Start"
Backdoor Routine
This backdoor connects to the following URL(s) to send and receive commands from a remote malicious user:
- {BLOCKED}e.7766.org

Step 1
Identify and terminate files detected as BKDR_AGENT.JCJ
- If the detected file is displayed in either Windows Task Manager or Process Explorer but you cannot delete it, restart your computer in safe mode. To do this, refer to this link for the complete steps.
- If the detected file is not displayed in either Windows Task Manager or Process Explorer, continue doing the next steps.
