This Trojan arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.
NOTES:
This is Trend Micro detection for specially crafted SWF file that takes advantage of a vulnerability in certain versions of Adobe Flash Player.
It takes advantage of the following vulnerability:
The exploit is triggered in Windows OS and in specific versions of Adobe Flash Player. It does this by checking the version of installed OS and Adobe Flash Player. It checks if the Windows version is any of the following:
- Windows Server 2003
- Windows Server 2003 R2
- Windows Server 2008
- Windows Server 2008 R2
- Windows XP
- Windows Vista
- Windows 7
It triggers if the installed Flash player's version are the following:
- 11.4.402.287
- 11.4.402.278
- 11.4.402.265
- 11.5.502.146
- 11.5.502.135
- 11.5.502.110
It executes the following binary files depending on the processor type:
- TROJ_DROPPER.YWO - 32-bit
- TROJ64_DROPPER.YWO - 64-bit
These binary files are arbitrary codes executed through object streaming.

Step 1
Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.
Step 2
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as SWF_EXPLOIT.MC. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files. Step 3
