OVERVIEW
This worm may be downloaded by other malware/grayware/spyware from remote sites. It may be unknowingly downloaded by a user while visiting malicious websites.
It drops an AUTORUN.INF file to automatically execute the copies it drops when a user accesses the drives of an affected system.
It executes the downloaded files. As a result, malicious routines of the downloaded files are exhibited on the affected system.
However, as of this writing, the said sites are inaccessible.

This worm may be downloaded by other malware/grayware/spyware from remote sites.
It may be unknowingly downloaded by a user while visiting malicious websites.
Installation
This worm drops the following copies of itself into the affected system:
- %Windows%\ggdrive32.exe
(Note: %Windows% is the Windows folder, which is usually C:\Windows or C:\WINNT.)
It creates the following folders:
- {removable drive}\RECYCLER

This worm adds the following registry entries to enable its automatic execution at every system startup:

It drops an AUTORUN.INF file to automatically execute the copies it drops when a user accesses the drives of an affected system.
The said .INF file contains the following strings:

This worm accesses the following websites to download files:
- http://{BLOCKED}g.net/xxudv.exe - detected as TROJ_KOLAB.FH
- http://{BLOCKED}natraoi.com/serv8.exe - detected as TROJ_FAKEAV.SM8
- http://{BLOCKED}natraoi.com/dq.exe - detected as TROJ_FAKEAV.SM8
It downloads an updated copy of itself from the following website(s):
- http://{BLOCKED}natraoi.com/ms.exe - also detected as WORM_KOLAB.FH
It then executes the downloaded files. As a result, malicious routines of the downloaded files are exhibited on the affected system.

Step 1
For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.
Step 2
Remove malware files dropped/downloaded by WORM_KOLAB.FH
- TROJ_FAKEAV.SM8
Step 3
Terminate a malware/grayware process
*Note: If the detected process is not displayed in theWindows Task Manager, continue doing the next steps.
Step 4
Delete this registry value

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as WORM_KOLAB.FH.
