This Trojan arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

Installation

This Trojan drops the following files:

  • {Malware Path}\READ_THIS_FILE_IMPORTANT.txt - ransom note in Sesothonian language

Backdoor Routine

This Trojan connects to the following websites to send and receive information:

  • http://{BLOCKED}t.{BLOCKED}z.lv/ddrt/write.php?info={Computer and Username}%20jN2C/4tCIL6rkAJHLwYxSw==%{Date Stamp}

However, as of this writing, the said sites are inaccessible.

NOTES:

This ransomware does not encrypt files on your computer.

It opens the notepad program to show the ransom note in Sesothonian language.

It also opens a browser (Internet Explorer) to access the File Recovery Process site: https://docs.{BLOCKED}e.com/forms/d/e/{BLOCKED}LScYhVc74rKqzYr-GW6-hyNDlfN8zU8XznDGRLUgtDZtLVw8sg/viewform
