This Trojan may be downloaded by other malware/grayware/spyware from remote sites.
Download Routine
This Trojan takes advantage of the following software vulnerabilities to download possibly malicious files:
It saves the files it downloads using the following names:
- %User Profile%\{13 random characters}.exe
(Note: %User Profile% is the current user's profile folder, which is usually C:\Documents and Settings\{user name} on Windows 2000, XP, and Server 2003, or C:\Users\{user name} on Windows Vista and 7.)
It then executes the downloaded files. As a result, malicious routines of the downloaded files are exhibited on the affected system.
It downloads a possibly malicious file from a certain URL. The URL where this malware downloads the said file depends on the following parameter(s) passed on to it by its components:

Step 1
Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.

Close all opened browser windows

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as JAVA_EXPLOIT.SO. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
