Arrival Details

This Trojan may be unknowingly downloaded by a user while visiting malicious websites.

It may be hosted on a website and run when a user accesses the said website.

NOTES:

This Trojan inserts an iframe tag that redirects users to malicious URLs.

It downloads component files usually JAVA and SWF files to find a vulnerable software on the system.

Once a vulnerability has been found, it downloads and executes its main payload (usually an .EXE file) on the affected system.

Step 1

For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.

Step 2

Close all opened browser windows

Step 3

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as JS_KINXIA.A. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
