This Trojan arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

Installation

This Trojan drops the following copies of itself into the affected system and executes them:

  • %Windows%\Fonts\sppsrv.exe

(Note: %Windows% is the Windows folder, where it usually is C:\Windows on all Windows operating system versions.)

It drops the following files:

  • %Windows%\Fonts\history.txt
  • %Windows%\Fonts\id.txt
  • %Windows%\Fonts\LMS.exe
  • %Windows%\Fonts\sserhy.ttf
  • %Windows%\Fonts\sserid.fon
  • %Windows%\Temp\s2eg.1_.exe
  • %Windows%\Temp\s2eg._Miner_.log
  • %Windows%\Temp\s2q0._Miner_.log
  • %Windows%\Temp\s2q0.1_.exe

(Note: %Windows% is the Windows folder, where it usually is C:\Windows on all Windows operating system versions.)

Other Details

Step 1
