Against a shimmering London skyline last night, our very own Camilla Currin won a prestigious Most Inspiring Women in Cyber award. We’re delighted for this long-overdue recognition of the fantastic work she does every day. Both Trend Micro, and the industry as a whole, are better off for having inspirational figures like Camilla around.
From the startTrend Micro has a diversity mission as strong as its core goal of making our digital connected world a safer place. In fact, we believe that the two are intrinsically linked. Only through more diverse teams will organisations, and vendors like ourselves, benefit from the diversity of thought and experience needed to tackle the cyber-challenges they face every day.
Our CEO and co-founder Eva Chen makes sure this message is energetically promoted from the very top. It has led to our sponsorship of much-needed initiatives like Close the Gap – designed to help encourage more women into IT and cybersecurity careers. And it means we boast many inspiring role models like Senior Partner Manager Camilla.
At the eventIn fact, Trend Micro had two representatives at the BT Tower event on Tuesday night—one of only a handful of organisations to do so. Also nominated was UK&I major accounts sales director, Kate Emery-James.
Both Kate and Camilla work tirelessly to promote diversity at Trend Micro, and they lead by example in the wider sector, which can only be a good thing as we collectively tackle the challenge of industry skills shortages. We celebrate you both, and all 60+ nominees on the awards shortlist.
