This backdoor arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

NOTES:

Once installed in the compromised web server, remote attackers can access it via the Internet.

Upon access, it displays the following information about the infected machine:

  • Operating system
  • Processor
  • Apache, OpenSSL and PHP version
  • Server IP, Remote user's IP
  • System's current date and time
  • Available drives
  • Current directory

It has the following backdoor capabilities:

  • File Manager or Explorer
  • Display process status
  • Execute code using eval
  • Server information
  • Connect to database
  • Remote shell
  • Reverse shell
