This malware exploits a zero-day vulnerability in some versions of Internet Explorer. Once successfully exploited, it drops a backdoor on the vulnerable computer. As a result, routines of the backdoor are also exhibited on the computer.

This Trojan accesses the following websites to download files:
- {URL Hosted}\Erido.jpg
It saves the files it downloads using the following names:
- %User Temp%\sqlrenew.txt
- %User Temp%\stream.exe - detected as BKDR_ZXSHELL.V
(Note: %User Temp% is the current user's Temp folder, which is usually C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Local Settings\Temp on Windows 2000, XP, and Server 2003, or C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Local\Temp on Windows Vista and 7.)
It then executes the downloaded files. As a result, malicious routines of the downloaded files are exhibited on the affected system.

Step 1
Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.
