Installation
This Worm drops the following files:
- %System%\drivers\klif.sys
- %System%\uweyiwe0.dll
- %User Temp%\~TM3D.tmp
- %User Temp%\~TM81EC3F.TMP
(Note: %System% is the Windows system folder, which is usually C:\Windows\System on Windows 98 and ME, C:\WINNT\System32 on Windows NT and 2000, or C:\Windows\System32 on Windows XP and Server 2003.. %User Temp% is the current user's Temp folder, which is usually C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Local Settings\Temp on Windows 2000, XP, and Server 2003.)
It drops the following copies of itself into the affected system:
- %Application Data%\MICROSOFT\Windows\winlogon.exe
- %System%\kva8wr.exe
(Note: %Application Data% is the current user's Application Data folder, which is usually C:\Windows\Profiles\{user name}\Application Data on Windows 98 and ME, C:\WINNT\Profiles\{user name}\Application Data on Windows NT, and C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Local Settings\Application Data on Windows 2000, XP, and Server 2003.. %System% is the Windows system folder, which is usually C:\Windows\System on Windows 98 and ME, C:\WINNT\System32 on Windows NT and 2000, or C:\Windows\System32 on Windows XP and Server 2003.)
SOLUTION
Step 1
Terminate the malware/grayware/spyware process:
Step 2
Search and delete these files
- %System%\drivers\klif.sys
- %System%\uweyiwe0.dll
- %System%\kva8wr.exe
Note: To do a search for the following files, right-click Start then click Search... or Find..., depending on the version of Windows you are running. For each file to be deleted, type its file name in the Named input box. In the Look In drop-down list, select My Computer, then press Enter.
Step 3
Restore this file from backup Only Microsoft-related files will be restored. If this malware/grayware/spyware also deleted files related to programs that are not from Microsoft, please reinstall those programs on your computer again.

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as
WORM_ONLINEG.ICC
