Arrival Details

This worm arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

NOTES:

It is an AutoCAD LISP script that spreads by copying itself to AutoCAD's working folder. If first locates the directory of the following files:

  • ACAD.MNL
  • ACAD.EXE
  • DWGNAME
It then drops copies of itself as:
  • {path of ACAD.MNL}\acaddoc.lsp
  • {path of ACAD.EXE}\support\acaddoc.lsp
  • {path of DWGNAME}\acaddoc.lsp

When an AutoCAD drawing file is opened, this script is also executed. It disables the following AutoCAD commands:

  • EXPLODE
  • LINE
  • XREF
It sets the values of the following Autocard variables to 1 as part of its installation routine:
  • ACADLSPASDOC
  • cmdecho
  • sdi

It also loads the file acadapq.lsp.
