Based on analysis of the codes, it has the following capabilities:

  • Hooks the macro Auto_Open. Before doing this, it first checks for the file STARTUP.XLS under the XLSTART folder. If the file does not exist, it then save the active workbook as using the same file name in the said folder.
  • Infects Microsoft Excel worksheet files by creating a macro module named StartUp, which contains the virus code. Before doing this, it initially runs a check for a module with the same name in target files so that it can avoid reinfecting previous infections.
