Installation

This worm drops the following copies of itself into the affected system:

  • C:\Users\Public\Documents\Audio\NBService.exe

It creates the following folders:

  • C:\Users\Public\Documents\Audio\
  • {Removable Drive Letter}:\Audio\

Autostart Technique

This worm adds the following registry entries to enable its automatic execution at every system startup:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\
Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Realtek = "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Audio\Realtek.exe"

Backdoor Routine

This worm does not have any backdoor routine.

NOTES:

This worm copies the following files into the removable drives:

  • C:\Users\Public\Documents\Audio\Realtek.exe
  • C:\Users\Public\Documents\Audio\SDRTCPRM.dll
  • C:\Users\Public\Documents\Audio\Realtek.sys

It saves the files in the removable drive as:

  • {Removable Drive Letter}:\Audio\Realtek.exe
  • {Removable Drive Letter}:\Audio\SDRTCPRM.dll
  • {Removable Drive Letter}:\autorun.inf

This worm also copies the above files from the removable drive to the folder C:\Users\Public\Documents\Audio.

This worm requires the above mentioned files in order to run its intended routine.

It does not have rootkit capabilities.

It does not exploit any vulnerability.

Step 1
