OVERVIEW
This malicious .DOC file has two embedded .SWF files that it loads to exploit CVE-2011-0611.
Once successfully exploited, this malware connects to a specific URL to download another possibly malicious file. As a result, routines of the downloaded file are exhibited in the system.
This Trojan arrives as an attachment to email messages spammed by other malware/grayware or malicious users. It may be unknowingly downloaded by a user while visiting malicious websites.
However, as of this writing, the said sites are inaccessible.

This malicious .DOC file has two embedded .SWF files that it loads to exploit CVE-2011-0611.
Once successfully exploited, this malware will connect to the following URL to download another possibly malicious file:
- http://{BLOCKED}kofamerica.org/g.exe
The downloaded file is then saved as %User Temp%\g.exe.
SOLUTION
Step 1
For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.

Search and delete these files

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as TROJ_MALDOC.SW. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
