Installation

This Trojan adds the following folders:

  • %system root%\cleansweep.exe

It drops the following copies of itself into the affected system:

  • %system root%\cleansweep.exe\cleansweep.exe

It drops the following files:

  • %system root%\cleansweep.exe\config.bin

Autostart Technique

This Trojan adds the following registry entries to enable its automatic execution at every system startup:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\
Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
cleansweep.exe = %system root%\cleansweep.exe\cleansweep.exe

Download Routine

This Trojan downloads an updated copy of itself from the following website(s):

  • http://www.{BLOCKED}ctionsupport.org/f/bin/zam.exe

It saves the files it downloads using the following names:

  • %system root%\cleansweep.exe\cleansweepupd.exe

Stolen Information

This Trojan sends the gathered information via HTTP POST to the following URL:

Step 1

Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as TROJ_INJECT.AMW. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
