Installation
This Trojan drops the following component file(s):
- %Windows%\{Random File Name}.dll - also detected as TROJ_HILOTI.XWG
(Note: %Windows% is the Windows folder, which is usually C:\Windows or C:\WINNT.)
Its DLL component is injected to the following process(es):
- Explorer.exe
Autostart Technique
This Trojan adds the following registry entries to enable its automatic execution at every system startup:

Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Ecagiwuhuqerofi = "rundll32.exe %Windows%\{Random File Name}.dll,Startup"
Other System Modifications
This Trojan adds the following registry keys as part of its installation routine:

SOLUTION
Step 1
For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.
Step 2
Remove malware files dropped/downloaded by TROJ_HILOTI.XWG
Step 3
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product and note files detected as TROJ_HILOTI.XWG
Step 4
Restart in Safe Mode
Step 5
Delete this registry value
