This Ransomware arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.
Installation
This Ransomware adds the following processes:
- %System%cmd.exe
(Note: %System% is the Windows system folder, where it usually is C:\Windows\System32 on all Windows operating system versions.)
It creates the following folders:
- %System Root%\HI{Mounted drive letter}
(Note: %System Root% is the Windows root folder, where it usually is C:\ on all Windows operating system versions.)
It adds the following mutexes to ensure that only one of its copies runs at any one time:
- Global\Screenlimitsdevices#77!
Other Details
This Ransomware does the following:
- It requires that the count of arguments be greater than or equal to 7 and must be odd.
- When argument count is not satisfied, it shows the following window to open a PDF file then displays an error:
- It encrypts files found in the following drive types:
- Removable Drives
- Fixed Drives
- Remote/Network Drives
- CR-ROM Drives
- It tries to mount each volume.
- It creates an anonymous pipe.

Step 1
