This file infector arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.
Installation
This file infector drops the following copies of itself into the affected system:
- %Windows%\usbservice.exe
(Note: %Windows% is the Windows folder, which is usually C:\Windows.)
Autostart Technique
This file infector registers itself as a system service to ensure its automatic execution at every system startup by adding the following registry entries:

This file infector deletes the initially executed copy of itself
NOTES:
It may also connect to randomly generated domains for its C&C (command and control) server using a randomizing function, which is computed based on the system's current date and time. The generated domain is {6 random characters}.com.
SOLUTION
Step 1
Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.
