Backdoor Routine
This backdoor connects to any of the following IRC server(s):
- {BLOCKED}c.{BLOCKED}vhosting.com:6667
It joins any of the following IRC channel(s):
- #Kaiten
Other Details
This backdoor uses the following credentials when accessing its IRC server:
- NICK = {random}
- USER = {random}
- KEY = "woot"
NOTES:
This malware adds a line for autostart in /etc/rc.d/rc.local or /etc/rc.conf.
SOLUTION
Restart in normal mode and scan your computer with your Trend Micro product for files detected as ELF_KAITEN.SN. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
