- x-lite.exe
- sipgatexlite.exe
- paltalk.exe
Backdoor Routine
This backdoor executes the following commands from a remote malicious user:
- Download and upload programs
- Execute programs
- Get system information
- Installing component files
- Take screenshot
- Uninstall self

Information Theft:
It logs keystrokes when using the following Internet browsers:
- firefox.exe
- iexplore.exe
- navigator.exe
- opera.exe
- seamonkey.exe
This backdoor is capable of listening to conversation from the following applications:
- MSN Messenger
- Paltalk
- Sip-Gate x-lite
- Skype
- x-lite
- Yahoo Messenger
This backdoor is capable of recording conversations from Skype.
This backdoor gathers the following information from certain applications:
- Call Information
- Call Partner
- Call Partner Number
- Connection Status
- File Transfer Logs
- Message Sent/Received
- Message Status
- User Status
It attempts to connect to the following remote IP addresses:
- {BLOCKED}.98.1
- {BLOCKED}.140.90
SOLUTION
Step 1
For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.
Step 2
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product and note files detected as BKDR_R2D2.SMR
Step 3
Restart in Safe Mode
Step 4
Search and delete the file detected as BKDR_R2D2.SMR
Step 5
Restart in normal mode and scan your computer with your Trend Micro product for files detected as BKDR_R2D2.SMR. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
