Backdoor Routine
This backdoor opens the following ports:
- 6000
It executes the following commands from a remote malicious user:
- Transfer files to and from remote server
- List files and directories
- Delete files
- List all drives with corresponding drive types
- List running processes
- Create and terminate processes
- Command shell
It connects to the following websites to send and receive information:
- ip.jeroy.{BLOCKED}z.com
- port.jeroy.{BLOCKED}z.com
It posts the following information to its command and control (C&C) server:
- List of files and directories
- List of drive information
- Upload files to remote server
SOLUTION
Step 1
For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.
Step 2
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as BKDR_DYNAMER.X. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
