This backdoor does the following:

  • Accesses the following website to send system information such as machine name, IP address and OS version:
    • {BLOCKED}1.{BLOCKED}8.25.132
  • Accesses the following website to read a data which it uses to form the IP address it possibly connects to receive commands:
    • http://www.{BLOCKED}h.cc/blog/wtomoot82/703518
    It then tries to connect to the following IP address to possibly receive commands:
    • {BLOCKED}1.{BLOCKED}0.126.11
    However, as of this writing, this URL is inaccessible.

Step 1

For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.

Step 2

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product and note files detected as BKDR_BADPUCK.C

Step 3

Restart in Safe Mode

Search and delete the file detected as BKDR_BADPUCK.C

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as BKDR_BADPUCK.C.
