Download Routine
This Trojan saves the files it downloads using the following names:
- adobeupdate.exe
It then executes the downloaded files. As a result, malicious routines of the downloaded files are exhibited on the affected system.

This Trojan connects to the following possibly malicious URL:
- http://{BLOCKED}tek.dns1.us/k.php?f=16&e=4
- http://{BLOCKED}5.{BLOCKED}3.66.179/pub/new.avi
NOTES:
Depending on the version of the Adobe Acrobat and Reader, it downloads a possibly malicious file from any of the following URL where this malware is hosted:
- /{BLOCKED}s/2fdp.php?f=16
- /{BLOCKED}s/1fdp.php?f=16

Step 1
For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.

Close all opened browser windows

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as JS_REDIREC.SMQ. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
