This Ransomware sends the gathered information via HTTP POST to the following URL:
- http://{BLOCKED}.{BLOCKED}.177.253/up6.php
Other Details
This Ransomware encrypts files with the following extensions:
- .doc
- .xls
- .jpg
- .txt
It renames encrypted files using the following names:
- {Original File Name and Extension}.ned
It does the following:
- Encrypts files in the Z:\Ransomware directory and its subdirectories
- Sends the Computer Name and the key used for encryption via HTTP POST

Step 1
Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.

Restart in Safe Mode
Step 3
Restart in normal mode and scan your computer with your Trend Micro product for files detected as RANSOM_NEDSOM.B. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
