This Trojan executes when a user accesses certain websites where it is hosted.

Download Routine

This Trojan accesses the following websites to download files:

  • http://{BLOCKED}.{BLOCKED}.112.81/p.php?f=dd9d6&e=2

It saves the files it downloads using the following names:

  • {malware's parent path name}\e3ab935.exe

It then executes the downloaded files. As a result, malicious routines of the downloaded files are exhibited on the affected system.

Other Details

This Trojan redirects browsers to the following sites:

  • http://{BLOCKED}00.net/updateflashplayer.exe

It inserts an IFRAME tag that redirects users to the following URLs:

  • {host website}/data/ap1.php?f=dd9d6 - detected by Trend Micro as TROJ_PIDIEF.ERZ
  • {host website}/data/ap2.php - detected by Trend Micro as TROJ_PIDIEF.ERZ
  • {host website}/data/hhcp.php?c=dd9d6

NOTES:

This Trojan downloads and executes the file at http://{BLOCKED}.{BLOCKED}.112.81/p.php?f=dd9d6&e=2 by passing an encrypted version of the URL as the parameter uid to JAVA_BLACOLE.ERZ.

Step 1

For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.

Step 2

Remove malware files dropped/downloaded by JS_BLACOLE.ERZ

Step 3

Close all opened browser windows

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as JS_BLACOLE.ERZ. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
