It takes advantage of the vulnerabilities in Microsoft Office that could allow remote code execution (MS10-087).
Once it successfully exploits the said vulnerability, it drops a file detected as TROJ_DROPR.VTG.
Once a malware successfully exploits the said vulnerability, it causes certain actions to be done on the system.

Step 1
For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.

Search and delete these files
- %User Temp%\{malware file name}.doc

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as TROJ_ARTIEF.CJV. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
