This Trojan executes when a user accesses certain websites where it is hosted.
Other Details
This Trojan requires the existence of the following files to properly run:
- {web address where it is hosted}/swfobject.js
- {web address where it is hosted}/jquery-1.4.2.min.js
It does the following:
- It connects to the following URL to load a malicious web page:
- {web address where it is hosted}/main.html - detected as VBS_OLEAR.C
- It connects to the following URLs to play possibly malicious Adobe Flash files:
- {web address where it is hosted}/footer.swf
- {web address where it is hosted}/logo.swf
- It connects to the following URL to execute a possibly malicious Java class file:
- {web address where it is hosted}/dvpsetup.class
- It connects to the non-malicious site http://count7.51yes.com/click.aspx?id=72296135&logo=8 to display a logo with hyperlink to http://count7.51yes.com/click.aspx?id=72296135 to trick users that it is a legitimate web page.

Step 1
Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.
Step 2
Close all opened browser windows
Step 3
Remove malware/grayware files dropped/downloaded by JS_KAIXIN.A. (Note: Please skip this step if the threats listed below have already been removed.)

Step 4
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as JS_KAIXIN.A. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
