This Trojan arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

Installation

This Trojan drops the following files:

  • ck.log - contains process found that contains /www/vhosts
  • dir.log - contains the first directory found

Other System Modifications

This Trojan deletes the following files:

  • ck.log
  • dir.log

Download Routine

This Trojan downloads the file from the following URL and renames the file when stored in the affected system:

  • http://{BLOCKED}.{BLOCKED}.52.55/uploads/so3 to {path found that was stored in dir.log}\s03

Other Details

This Trojan does the following:

  • Extract downloaded s03 archive
  • Execute files from the decompressed archive
  • Check the architecture of the infected machine
  • Execute a coinminer depending on the architecture
  • Create a cron job for the coinminer
