This Trojan is hosted on a website and takes advantage of a vulnerability in CoreGraphics (CVE-2011-0226) and IOMobileFrameBuffer (CVE-2011-0227) of iOS to aid in jailbreaking an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch without connecting the device to a computer.

It takes advantage of a vulnerability in CoreGraphics (CVE-2011-0226) and IOMobileFrameBuffer (CVE-2011-0227) of iOS to aid in jailbreaking an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch without connecting the device to a computer. More information on these vulnerabilities can be found at this Apple Support page.

It is capable of affecting the following iOS versions:

  • iPad 4.3 to 4.3.3
  • iPhone 4.2.6 to 4.3.3
  • iPod touch 4.3 to 4.3.3

The exploit is triggered once a user visits the abovementioned jailbreak site and chooses to install the offered jailbreak (JailbreakMe 3) via the iOS device's Safari browser. As a result, the user is allowed to install unauthorized applications on the iOS device.

Step 1
