Installation

This adware creates the following folders:

  • %Program Files%\SmartFind

(Note: %Program Files% is the default Program Files folder, usually C:\Program Files.)

Download Routine

This adware accesses the following websites to download files:

  • http://www.{BLOCKED}nd.co.kr/SmartFind/p11072105/Nversion.php
  • http://www.{BLOCKED}nd.co.kr/SmartFind/p11072105/SmartFindPack.zip.1.2.0.0

It then executes the downloaded files. As a result, malicious routines of the downloaded files are exhibited on the affected system.

It saves downloaded files into the said created folder.

Step 1

For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.

Search and delete these folders

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as ADW_SMARTFIND.
