This Trojan arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

Installation

This Trojan drops the following files:

  • {Malware file path}/{Date}-Plugin.log (contains encrypted process logs)

It adds the following mutexes to ensure that only one of its copies runs at any one time:

  • Plugin
  • AIPlugin_log

Other System Modifications

This Trojan deletes the following files:

  • All .log files in the current folder

    • Name: Plugin
      Description: plugins service

  • -v - It displays the malware version
  • -u - It uninstalls the service
  • -start - It starts the service

    • It creates a registry entry:
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IXINNUO
        Version=EC.V.1.1.R
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IXINNUO
        Mac={Binary data}
    • It connects to the following URLs to send and receive information:
      • http://upgrade.{BLOCKED}uo.com/contract_sign/client-version/current?version=EC.V.1.1.R&retry=0
      • http://upgrade.{BLOCKED}uo.com/contract_sign/client-version/current?version=
      • http://{BLOCKED}.{BLOCKED}.156.177:9002/version/downloadAddr
    • It adds the following processes:
      • %Program Files%\xyrzsvc.exe -start (if kp-setup and Aisino.Framework.Startup.exe is not found running in the system)
      • %Program Files%\xyrzsvc.exe -stop (if kp-setup and Aisino.Framework.Startup.exe is found running in the system)
    • It drops the following files:
      • %System Root%\Aisinosystem.inf
    • It downloads a slightly modified version of itself based on the URL returned by http://{BLOCKED}.{BLOCKED}.156.177:9002/version/downloadAddr.
