It saves the files it downloads using the following names:
- C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\{version}\CenterPoint.exe - detected as BKDR_POSCENTER.A
NOTES:
{version} can be any of the following:
- v2.0.50727
- v3.0
- v3.5
- v4.0.30319
It searches for InstallUtil.exe in the abovementioned order of .NET Framework version directories.
It uses the directory of the version where it first finds InstallUtil.exe.
It uses InstallUtil.exe. to execute/install CenterPoint.exe.
It uses the following command to start the CenterPoint service.
- net start centerpoint

Step 1
Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.
Step 2
Remove malware/grayware files dropped/downloaded by BAT_CENTERPOS.A. (Note: Please skip this step if the threats listed below have already been removed.)

Step 3
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as BAT_CENTERPOS.A. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
