This worm drops the following copies of itself into the affected system:
- %Program Files%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo\Recycled.scr
- %Program Files%\RRecycled.scr
(Note: %Program Files% is the default Program Files folder, usually C:\Program Files in Windows 2000, Server 2003, and XP (32-bit), Vista (32-bit), and 7 (32-bit), or C:\Program Files (x86) in Windows XP (64-bit), Vista (64-bit), and 7 (64-bit).)
It drops the following non-malicious files:
- %System%\drivers\oreans32.sys
(Note: %System% is the Windows system folder, which is usually C:\Windows\System32.)
Autostart Technique
This worm registers itself as a system service to ensure its automatic execution at every system startup by adding the following registry entries:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\
Services\Windows Recycled Services
Windows Recycled Services = "%Program Files%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo\Recycled.scr"

Other System Modifications
This worm adds the following registry entries:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\
Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
ProxyServer = "http=127.0.0.1:8888;https=http=127.0.0.1:8888"
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\

open=Recycled.scr
shellexecute=Recycled.scr
shell\Auto\command=Recycled.scr
Backdoor Routine
This worm executes the following commands from a remote malicious user:
- Perform remote shell
- Download and execute arbitrary files
- Terminate processes
It connects to the following URL(s) to send and receive commands from a remote malicious user:
- ttos019124.{BLOCKED}x.com:9124
NOTES:
The downloaded files may be plugins or components to enable more functionality of its backdoor routine. (e.g. remote shell, process termination, etc.)
