This worm arrives as an attachment to email messages spammed by other malware/grayware or malicious users. It arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

It gathers target email addresses from cached email, address books, and mailboxes. The sent messages contains a link where a copy of the malware may be downloaded.

It executes the downloaded files. As a result, malicious routines of the downloaded files are exhibited on the affected system. It saves downloaded files into the said created folder. As of this writing, the said sites are inaccessible.

This worm arrives as an attachment to email messages spammed by other malware/grayware or malicious users.

It arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

Installation

This worm creates the following folders:

  • C:\temp

Propagation

This worm uses the MAPI to send email messages that contain links to sites hosting remote copies of itself with the following details:

  • Sender: {BLOCKED}te.{BLOCKED}bon3374@yahoo.de

It uses any of the following Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) servers:

  • SMTP Server: "mailgate.otenet.gr"
  • SMTP Server Port: 587
  • User Name: "nastia26@otenet.gr"
  • Password: "nat1978#"

It gathers target email addresses from cached email, address books, and mailboxes.

The sent messages contain the following link(s), where a copy of the malware may be downloaded:

Step 1

Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.
