Installation

This Trojan adds the following processes:

  • %System%\ipconfig.exe /flushdns
  • %System Root%\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\RegSvcs.exe

(Note: %System% is the Windows system folder, where it usually is C:\Windows\System32 on all Windows operating system versions.. %System Root% is the Windows root folder, where it usually is C:\ on all Windows operating system versions.)

  • It clears the DNS cache of the affected machine
  • It reflectively loads a dll that will inject TrojanSpy.XWORM.RGN to %System Root%\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\RegSvcs.exe
  • It sets the clipboard value of the affected machine to three spaces (" ").

It does not exploit any vulnerability.
