This Backdoor arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

Other Details

This Backdoor does the following:

  • The malicious code that loads, decrypts, and executes the shellcode in the resource can be found in a function call just before the "ExitProcess API"
  • The executed shell code does the following:
    • It checks the MAC address of the computer and generates an MD5 hash of it then compares it to a list.
      • if found on the list, the malware downloads from the URL https://{BLOCKED}tfix.com/logo2.jpg?{MD5hash}.
      • if not found, the malware drops, %User Profile%\idx.ini

However, as of this writing, the said sites are inaccessible.
