Phishing Scam Mimics Dubai First Site
Publish Date: 26 febbraio 2011
Trend Micro content security engineers at TrendLabs found a phishing email and site that targets clients of Dubai First, a leading consumer finance company in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The email is said to contain a notice to recipients, telling them that their accounts have been blocked due to a system error. It also instructs recipients to click the visible link, Resolve, and follow the instructions to regain access to the site. After Dubai First clients provide their credentials, they are then redirected to the actual site.
The Dubai First phishing website exactly resembles the legitimate site. Users can easily spot the phishing site if they see the site URL is something else other than https://online.dubaifirst.com/.
To avoid becoming victims of phishing scams, Trend Micro advises users to continue to be vigilant in spotting suspicious-looking emails and to refrain from clicking links within the message bodies of these mails. Users are also advised to be familiar with the full address of the sites they frequent.
