Mother's Day Spam Sells Vacation Packages

Spammed messages leveraging Mother's day celebration are making rounds again. Trend Micro researchers spotted spammed messages purporting to come from a certain website promoting several product packages in time for Mother's Day celebration. It is interesting to note that the email addresses use domains from other countries, indicating that the email is possibly 'mass mailed'.

Although the email message looks like any other marketing tactic, users should be on the lookout for these kinds of mail as cybercriminals would try to leverage special events such as Mother's Day to increase their chance of getting valuable information from unsuspecting users.
