(Note: %System Root% is the root folder, which is usually C:\. It is also where the operating system is located.)

NOTES:

This Trojan checks which process executed it. It terminates itself if it is executed by the following processes:

  • avp.exe
  • svchost.exe

It also terminates itself if it is not executed by the process EXPLORER.EXE. It searches for the file %System Root%\Documents and Settings\All Users\data.db and loads the said file in order to create a thread performing its malicious routines. It also executes the legitimate file %System%\wdmaud.drv.

Identify and terminate files detected as TROJ_KILLAV.CIA
