This Backdoor arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

Backdoor Routine

This Backdoor executes the following commands from a remote malicious user:

  • Execute a program
  • Change file’s creation time, last access time, last modified time.
  • Send or receive files via FTP
  • Modify HTTP proxy (port to use, IP address to allow, IP address to deny, User-Agent, view server info, end proxy service)
  • Connect to a telnet server and execute command
  • Port scanning
  • List all active processes
  • List all active processes with its modules
  • Kill a process
  • Execute programs using different profile (Windows’ runas command)
  • Create, delete, start, stop, or configure a service
  • Query the following information of a service
    • Service Configuration
    • Display Name
    • Key Name
    • Description
  • Shutdown, log off, reboot, or power off the system
  • Modify Socks proxy (port to use, IP address to allow, IP address to deny, User-Agent, view server info, end proxy service)
  • List, add, delete, or modify a user account
  • Download file from a URL
  • Share a shell
  • Change current directory
  • Display files and subdirectories in a directory
  • Copy, delete, or move files

It connects to the following URL(s) to send and receive commands from a remote malicious user:

  • {BLOCKED}.{BLOCKED}.2.125:53

Information Theft

This Backdoor steals the following information:

  • IP Address
  • Computer name
  • User name

NOTES:

This backdoor has the ability to delete itself after execution.

It will send the information gathered from executing its commands to the mentioned URL.

Step 1

Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.

Step 2

Note that not all files, folders, and registry keys and entries are installed on your computer during this malware's/spyware's/grayware's execution. This may be due to incomplete installation or other operating system conditions. If you do not find the same files/folders/registry information, please proceed to the next step.

Step 3

Terminate the malware/grayware/spyware process:
