This Trojan arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

This Trojan does the following:

  • It connects to the following URL to obtain its main module:
    • {BLOCKED}.{BLOCKED}.{BLOCKED}.39:443
  • Once connection is successful, it sends the following string and proceed with loading the main module
    • bEVnYZD9p93Z6OiTntVX7LKwqQc12q
  • It creates the following service:
    • Service Name = smbmonitoring
    • Display Name = SMB Monitoring
    • Binary Pathname = {malware path}\{malware filename}

However, as of this writing, the said sites are inaccessible.

Step 1
