If the folder is present, it locks the screen and displays the following window:

The following window serves as the ransom note:

If the "Deposit" button is clicked, it displays another window:

If the "Send" button is clicked with the wrong address, the following message box will be displayed:

If the "Send" button is clicked with the correct address and amount, the following will be displayed:

It will decrypt the files and unlock the screen once the "Decrypt" button is clicked.

Step 1

Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.

Step 2

Restart in normal mode and scan your computer with your Trend Micro product for files detected as RANSOM_DUMB.A. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. Restore encrypted files from backup.
