Backdoor Routine

This Backdoor executes the following commands from a remote malicious user:

  • Execute Arbitrary Commands
  • Manage Files (Create, Delete, Rename, Copy)
  • Manage Directories (Create, Remove, Set Directory)
  • Manage Processes (List, Create, Suspend, Kill)
  • Inject Code into Processes
  • Connect and Communicate to a Named pipe
  • Enumerate Drives
  • Impersonate Tokens
  • Escalate Privileges

It connects to the following websites to send and receive information:

  • http://{BLOCKED}.{BLOCKED}.173.125/get.css
  • http://{BLOCKED}.{BLOCKED}.173.125/fam_newspaper

This Backdoor gathers the following data:

  • Computer Name
  • User Name
  • OS Version
  • Process Filename

Step 1

Before doing any scans, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.

Note that not all files, folders, and registry keys and entries are installed on your computer during this malware's/spyware's/grayware's execution.
