Installation
This Trojan creates the following folders:
- %Program Files%\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader
- %Program Files%\Windows Defender
(Note: %Program Files% is the default Program Files folder, usually C:\Program Files.)
Dropping Routine
This Trojan drops the following files:
- %Program Files%\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\AdobeUpdater.exe - detected as BKDR_VBBOT.AP
- %Program Files%\Windows Defender\MPClient.exe - detected as BKDR_VB.JGT
- %Program Files%\Windows Defender\MPSvc.exe - detected as BKDR_VB.JHM
(Note: %Program Files% is the default Program Files folder, usually C:\Program Files.)

Step 1
For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.
Step 2
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as TROJ_FAYKDOBE.A. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
