To terminate the malware/grayware process:

1. Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product and take note of the name of the malware/grayware/spyware detected.
2. Open Windows Task Manager.
   • For Windows 2000, XP, and Server 2003 users, press
   CTRL+SHIFT+ESC, then click the Processes tab.
3. In the list of running programs, locate a malware/grayware/spyware file detected earlier.
4. Select the detected files, then press either the End Task or the End Process button, depending on the version of Windows you are using.
5. Do the same for the remaining detected malware/grayware/spyware files in the list of running programs.
6. To check if the malware/grayware/spyware process has been terminated, close Task Manager, and then open it again.
7. Close Task Manager.

To delete the registry key this malware/grayware/spyware created:

1. Restart your computer in Safe Mode. For instructions on how to do this, you may refer to this page. If the preceding step requires you to restart in safe mode, you may proceed to #2.
2. Open Registry Editor. To do this, click Start>Run, type REGEDIT in the text box provided, then press Enter.
3. In the left panel of the Registry Editor window, double-click the following:
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Microsoft>Internet Explorer
4. Still in the left panel, locate and delete the key:
   SearchScopes
5. In the left panel of the Registry Editor window, double-click the following:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Microsoft>Internet Explorer
6. Still in the left panel, locate and delete the key:
   SearchScopes
7. In the left panel of the Registry Editor window, double-click the following:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE
8. Still in the left panel, locate and delete the key:
   OneStepSearch
9. In the left panel of the Registry Editor window, double-click the following:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Uninstall
10. Still in the left panel, locate and delete the key:
    OneStepSearch
11. In the left panel of the Registry Editor window, double-click the following:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>CurrentControlSet>Enum>Root
12. Still in the left panel, locate and delete the key:
    LEGACY_ONESTEP_SEARCH_SERVICE
13. In the left panel of the Registry Editor window, double-click the following:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>CurrentControlSet>Services
14. Still in the left panel, locate and delete the key:
    OneStep Search Service
15. Close Registry Editor.

To delete the malware/grayware folder:

1. Right-click Start then click Search... or Find..., depending on the version of Windows you are running.
2. In the Named input box, type:
   
   • %Program Files%\OneStepSearch
3. In the Look In drop-down list, select My Computer, then press Enter.
4. Once located, select the folder then press SHIFT+DELETE to permanently delete the folder.

To delete the malware/grayware/spyware file:

1. Right-click Start then click Search... or Find..., depending on the version of Windows you are running.
2. In the Named input box, type:
   
   • %Program Files%\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins\onestep.xml
3. In the Look In drop-down list, select My Computer, then press Enter.
4. Once located, select the file then press SHIFT+DELETE to permanently delete the file.
