Arrival method is commonly deemed synonymous to the terms “infection vector” and “infection channel”, since both refer to how a particular malware gets inside computer systems. There are different arrival methods for a threat:
- Downloaded from the internet
- Downloaded by other malware
- Opened as email attachments
- Accessed through iFrame-compromised sites
- Shared and downloaded from P2P sites
- Downloaded from removable drives
- Downloaded from social media sites or instant messaging programs
