This Trojan arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

Installation

This Trojan adds the following processes:

  • %Windows%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\RegSvcs.exe

(Note: %Windows% is the Windows folder, where it usually is C:\Windows on all Windows operating system versions.)

It injects codes into the following process(es):

  • Spawned %Windows%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\RegSvcs.exe

Other Details

This Trojan does the following:

  • It uses reflective DLL loading to proceed with its main routine.
  • It reflectively loads a dll that will inject Ransom.MSIL.CRONUS.THHOIBD to %Windows%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\RegSvcs.exe

Step 1
